About Us

Mick Barden and his wife, Carole, formed the company in 1983 with the trading name “Mecar Heating and Plumbing”, “Me” meaning Mick and “Car” for Carole.

Mick’s son, Tristam joined the company in 1994 after leaving school. After completing his NVQ levels two and three, it was decided to make Tristam a partner in the company and so the name was changed to “M.B.Barden & Son”.

Being a small, family run business, our core values are always the same:

– A no-nonsense approach to heating and plumbing services

– Honest advice

– A clear rundown of what we are going to do in our estimates

– We won’t sell you anything you don’t need

– We will always turn up when we say we will. If for any reason, we are unable to, will ring in advance to let you know

– We treat your home with respect, use dustsheets where necessary and always clear up afterwards

– And we are only happy when you are 100% satisfied with our work

Being based just outside of Ashford (Kent), we mainly carry out work in the Kent area but do carry out work in Sussex and occasionally London.
